Julie Merges

Julie was born and raised in Los Angeles and attended Campbell Hall School. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Julie went on to earn her Master of Arts from Columbia University and met her husband Brian while studying on the East Coast.

Julie is mother to sons, Conor Merges (7th grade) and Quinn Merges (4th grade), and daughter, Abby Merges who is an alumni of St. Paul the Apostle and now a 9th grader attending Marlborough School. Julie has served on the PWC Board in various roles as the Head of Communications for two terms and Assistant Treasurer. She has also served on various festival committees as well.

As Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition at The Walt Disney Company, Julie has responsibility for recruiting efforts across the Company. Previous to this role, Julie led an HR Business Partner team and also led Talent Solutions and Learning & Development for the Corporate segment. Over four years ago, Julie returned to The Walt Disney Company. During Julie’s first time at the company, she spent 9 years at The Walt Disney Studios in various capacities across the talent solutions, learning and development, workforce insights and talent acquisition areas. Julie spent 5 years away in various roles as SVP, Global Talent at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Chief People Officer at Edmunds and Head of HR for Amazon Los Angeles.
